Assalamu alaikum. Quran, Surah An-Nisa, verse three, gives the clear ruling that a husband can only marry a second or more wives purely for the sake of caring for orphans eg. mothers of the orphans. Further it says if men cannot deal justly-fairly-equitably with the first wife, then he should not marry a second or more. For example, if the first wife disagrees (like you did), he must not marry a second wife. Please read the verses of the Quran yourself, and research on it. I cannot help but put it bluntly that your husband has not followed the Quran, he has disobeyed it - and no scholar can justify it for him. Let all those who read this comment, study the Quran and stop following forefathers blindly.
