Certainly our sister had and has options, and as you mentioned divorce or sacrifice - she has made a choice. Marriage whether pural or monogamous presents challenges where one must ask am I better off with or without my spouse and what is at stake in this relationship. It is so easy to end a marriage. We are amazed at those couples who have been married for 20, 30 or 40 years, but do we ever think what emotional price was paid for those long years? The nature of this life is for testing - if not through our marriage, or children, parents and other means. We cannot always cut and run. I really believe it is pointless to debate why she stayed and did not divorce, everyone has a different reality and set of circumstances. More importantly, I believe, is to ask ourselves how will we deal with our fitna when it comes. I read her book and gained a renewed feeling of strengh in facing my own troubles. I pray that her situation becomes easy and that we all suceed in the life to come.
